I've created a rather quick mockup (attached) for the purposes of this poll.

Would you rather the iPhone had a larger screen (say, 3.8"), or do you prefer the accessibility of the current iPhone screen size for one-handed use?

Honestly I prefer it how it is even though it's apparently a little bit smaller on the 4 than the 3GS.

I think 3.8 would be a good limit. While the screen on the EVO is impressive, it just doesn't feel right in my hand.

It's huge, definitely not usable in one hand, unless your hands are gigantic.

Damn I should have chosen the 3rd choice I pondered it for awhile after I stopped laughing. I think the screen is fine if I want a bigger screen I buy an iPad.

I think 3.8" would have been nice also. The EVO screen is too way too big for a phone. Reminds me of HTC shift/advantage. Too big for phones. I agree wit ipheuria, any bigger and might as well get an iPad

Yeah I think introducing the iPad gives Apple a good reason to keep the screen at a more pocketable size.

Honestly sometimes when I am in bed before I go to sleep, using my iPhone with the lights off, I feel overwhelmed by the screen size. I don't think I'd like a 4" screen in my face. @_@

The screen is big enough for me. I've got pretty big hands and still sometimes I have trouble answering a call one handed while sliding my thumb all the way across the screen. Any bigger and I wouldn't be able to put the thing in my jean pocket, especially with a case on it.

Yeah there's that too. Any gesture that requires you to reach from one end to the other is already strenuous. The Evo would be impossible for me to use with one hand.

I think the size is perfect. The resolution increase makes it even more perfect.

Yeah, I don't need it and it won't happen. To change the size would be distorting the current resolution. Which means apps would have to be "letterboxed". Right now apps fit perfect and fit well on the iPad. Now with the double resolution apps should look even nicer on an iPad (after they are updated) in 2x mode.

@Justin,
in my mockup I resized the screen proportionally so that the aspect ratio wouldn't be changed. That way the resolutions wouldn't have to change.

I like the screen size the way the screen is. We benefit from
the screen staying the same size with better resolution.

honestly I saw an ad for the EVO and I honestly thought it looked like my iPad. So hell no would I want Apple to go that big, but then Apple KNOWS design so I don't think I have anything to worry about
