Some people in certain markets are getting 6mbps on T-Mobile. And they're improving. So you never know.

6mbps isn't bad. Guess we'll have to wait and see. That would releave some congestion on AT&T.

Then at least you'll be able to use it for 3G download speeds, which is what most people care about..

Well I would think no because you can't send information. In other words, if you go to apple.com on their 3G, it will never get the request saying hey where are you apple, which in turn means no response. That being said, you probably won't be able to even connect to their 3G since there is no uplink to their frequency.

In the end, there's only way to tell. Only when 4.0 hardware is hacked to be unlocked will we be able to see if it really does work.

Isn't the US the only place that only has the iPhone on 1 Carrier?

No. Here are list of countries that have one official carrier:

Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, China, Guam, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, New Zealand, Phillippines, French West Indies, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Armenia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and all African countries that carry it except Egypt and Reunion Island.

Keep in mind that some countries may only have 1 carrier or government restrictions on competition.

Isn't bad? 6mbps is fvcking awesome, and what like, 4x the high AT&T speed of 1.5mbps. AT&T seriously needs to upgrade their infrastructure. They are morons. It's been how long now? They could've built a fvcking MONSTER HSPA 21 network covering the entire country by now if they really cared about customers.
