3.13 update crashed my iPhone -- HELP!

My iPhone has not been "jailbroken", and has only used "official" Apple stuff.

When I chose to update to 3.13 today it resulted in my iPhone becoming unusable - it just shows the apple and a long empty bar under it.

I've tried to switch it off (button at the top), but nothing happens. I even took out the sim-card and then put it in again, still, nothing happens.

How can I re-start it, or otherwise cause it to begin to work again. I don't have a landline phone and need to have the iPhone working ASAP!


Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do to resolve the problem?

Had to turn it in to Vodafone (India) repair shop. They said it was a "known problem" and that they had a software program to fix the problem. It took 4 days to get it back (updated and working), and oddly enough, at no cost -- I've had it since January 2009, over a year, so the warrenty doesn't apply. Perhaps somebody forgot to charge me. Oh well, Kush Raho (Hindi = Be Happy).
