1. My phone is 3g using vodafone.
2.This phone was jailbroken and worked very well until !!!
3. Vodafone are now selling and supporting the Iphone using 3.1.2 software
4. Stupidly Ive upgraded my phone from 2.something, and now it doesnt work.
5. The phone shows the itunes logo and a usb plug and can only make emergency calls.

Is there anyone out there who can help

Restore it with iTunes and then just jailbreak it again.

Something I didnt mention is that when connected to itunes it now says the sim card is unsupported inspite of the fact its been fine for months. I cant seem to make any connection now between iphone and macbook pro.
I didnt jailbreak the phone, it was done before I got it.

your phone was probably software unlocked as well. when you upgraded it broke that

The answer to the problem is that you will have to jailbreak and unlock it. It's not difficult. There are probably 27 threads in the jailbreak forum with detailed instructions on how to do it.

Thanks Alli, I will have a go and see if I can sort this problem out, although not being able to get the phone connected to my pc could be a stumbling block

if your going to Jailbreak your phone do not download the apple updates until there has been a jailbreak solution. and remember not to take your phone into apple with it jailbroken, this voids your warranty and they will not help you. if you have to take it in, restore your phone to legit first.
