SMS Alerts

Hi all, is it possible to turn the pop up alerts off for SMS/MMS messages? It would be super cool if you could. I'm not interested in jailbreaking.

It still gives the alert and light up the screen it just doesn't show the preview of the text. I'd like for the screen not to light up. Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible.

If your trying to not be disturbed, like if your in a meeting or something you could turn on airplane mode and nothing will come through.

Nah, I'd just prefer that the screen doesn't light up so much. Turned alerts off for all of my other apps, all that's left is SMS and calendar and it looks like they're here to stay.
