- Is there an app for this? Maybe a function/shortcut I'm unaware of?
I'm looking for something similar to the refresh on physical keyboard BlackBerrys.
The following is a post describing the differences between refreshing a web page with iPhone and bb that I posted in Rene Ritchies smartphone round robin thread on crackberry. Copied and pasted because I don't feel like typing it again.
I spend most of my browsing time on web forums. Here is a small feature where bb wins. Refreshing a web page.
iPhone:
1. Touch top banner on browser screen.
2. Touch the 'refresh' symbol.
3. Page loads.
4. Flick scroll back to where you were on the page.
= 3 actions/steps. (and potentially a lot of flicking).
Onyx/9700:
1. Hit the 'R' key.
2. Page loads. Done. And you are right where you started, with new posts directly below you. No flicking or scrolling.
= 1 step.12-23-2009 09:17 AMLike 0 - an app can not interface with the browser
you're never going to get a refresh like a blackberry because the keyboard doesn't show unless you
1. Touch top banner on browser screen.
or
1. tap somewhere you can type.
basically, you're going to require a tap somewhere and then the second tap will refresh. the iphone method you describe is the quickest way possible.12-23-2009 09:20 AMLike 0 - Thanks flyingmember. That's what I thought.
I searched and came up empty, so I thought I'd throw the question out to the community in case I missed something.
I'll just consider it a small price to pay for tabbed browsing.12-23-2009 10:02 AMLike 0
