Squaretrade does not Cover refurb iPhones?

Hello I am new to buying a refurb iPhone and was looking into Insurance or Applecare and liked Squaretrade so I emailed Squaretrade about something with covering my refurb iPhone 3GS and they said that Squaretrade does not cover refurb iPhones is this True?

Well, if SquareTrade said they don't I'd take their word for it. It's odd that there is mention on their site about covering refurbished items though. Try giving them a call: 1.877.WARRANTY
