Having to unlock screen on incoming calls

Sometimes, when I'm playing a podcast with the screen off, and an incoming call comes in, I have to enter my security code to unlock the device before I can display the keypad. This is especially bugging when I get calls to my Google Voice #, because I have just a few seconds to press 1 to accept calls.

Any way to always have the "slide to accept call" be on the screen and have the phone app show the keypad on incoming calls?
