Is anyone else getting an audio interference msg?

I have a 2-yo 1st-gen that has given me no problems, however; for the last couple of days, I've gotten a msg that states that "this accessory is not supported by the iPhone & can cause audio interference. To avoid this, its recommended to go to Airplane mode to reduce interference." The msg pops up about 20x/hour & it prevents the iPod from playing. All of my apps were purchased in the App store, I've rebooted and I'm so frustrated w/ this phone.

I've resorted to deleting an app at a time to see which one is causing the interference, but I was wondering if anyone knew a way around this?

Are you using a non-standard charger or perhaps the cable is loose. I've seen that happen with an Apple iPhone cable when it started to tear.

I have the standard Apple iPhone cable & there is a small tear in the insulation. I'll try that, thx!!!
