I think it does, from my own personal usage.

Honestly I expected the iphone to be worse then my Treo Pro on ATT. It has turned out to be a little better.

You can compare specs on Apple's website Apple - iPhone - Technical Specifications

    iPhone 3GS
    Talk time:
Up to 12 hours on 2G
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Standby time: Up to 300 hours

    Internet use:
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Up to 9 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 10 hours
Audio playback: Up to 30 hours

    iPhone 3G
    Talk time:
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Up to 10 hours on 2G
Standby time: Up to 300 hours

    Internet use:
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Up to 6 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 7 hours
Audio playback: Up to 24 hours

So yes, it appears as though the 3GS has better battery life.

Without a doubt.. although some users have had problems with battery life on the 3.0 updates.

Anyone go from a 3G to a 3GS? I mean, I know what the specs say... but I'd like some real-world figures.

I went from 2G to 3G to 3GS. Each time the battery was noticeably better.

I've compared spec on the apple site but as another member said I'm looking for real figures from real users. I did notice that by turning off 3G my battery life got alot better all day yesterday. However i didn't buy a 3G device to have to run it on edge in order to get good battery life.
