On my 3GS, when I connect to iTunes, it says I have the latest firmware installed, but when I go into my settings on my phone, I see that the firmware is listed as 3.1 (7C144), not 3.1.2. Why didn't iTunes install the newest 3.1.2 update on my phone?

It should say 3.1.2 (7D11). You do not have the latest.

Connect your iPhone to iTunes, then go to Help->Check For Updates. See if that helps out.

Thanks. I'll try that when I get home. Appreciate it.

EDIT: ok, it worked. I'm running 3.1.2 now. I think I get it now- even though the update was released on the 8th, if your iTunes says it will check again for updates on the 12th, for example, it will still say you have the latest updates installed on your phone anytime prior to the 12th unless you do a manual check for the new update? Regardless, I got the new version in. Thanks guys.
