I always have my Wifi on, I don't have a data plan so my networks and BT are always off. I figure that saves me so much battery power it makes up for the Wifi being on all the time. Plus it's how I connect

I don't believe there is, but, it does appear that way...
I dont know if there is any documented proof, but switching off Bluetooth and location/GPS when they aren't being used was a habit I picked up during my Blackberry days and seems logical to me. I would imagine that wifi would fall in these parameters as well.

that isn't what she's saying. she's saying when wifi is available, why would u NOT choose the fastest connection type?

not really that hard to comprehend. if there's wifi, i use wifi, if not, i still use my phone. i just prefer using the quickest connection available to me at the time.

the .1 second in load times actually don't affect me.

i never really had bad network connection on my iphone.

when i tested wifi vs g3 usage it was not that big of a difference to even bother with wifi.

As a test, I've left my wifi on since last night. So, let's see how it holds up during the course of the day...

My wi-fi is on all of the time. It's active probably 80% of the time (at home or at school). I've never felt compelled to turn it off - I'm not sure whether I could get better battery life but as it stands I get enough battery life for a work day and not enough for a weekend day and night, so it probably wouldn't matter either way.

I have wi-fi at home and work, and I have been surprised other places that I get a wi-fi signal at times, I leave it on....if it has a negative impact on battery usage, I don't notice it...

I find that I often must turn WiRi off when it connects to an access point but the access point will not connect to the Internet. The iPhone sees Wifi, prefers it to GPRS, and will not use GPRS.
