Just got a new iPhone 3GS, totally new to me. Anyone know how to fix my screen going totally black- forever- when I try to access the "mail" icon?

I have never had the screen go black , it will sometime go white on me . That tends to happen if I am swicthing WIFI spots . Does it do that in any other app , I would suggest search this forum an see if anyone else has heard of this issue .

what firmware are you running? Are you jailbroke? If you aren't jailbroken then restore your os and see if that helps.
