I'm a little shocked to see it. The main reason I'm shocked to see it is because I know AT&T & Apple are gonna get 1 Million calls saying " My MMS does not work?" and AT&T is gonna be CLUELESS.

BTW, it's not necessary to download iTunes 8.2.1 or iTunes 9 to upgrade to iPhone 3.1. I'm still on 8.2 and it's working fine.

Question: what happens the FIRST time you sync an iPhone with iTunes 9.0? Does the app organization from the iPhone transfer to iTunes? Or, does your app organization get botched, requiring you to reorganize it in iTunes and then sync again?

This update being released has nothing to do with MMS working. Either you have messed with a carrier file and are jailbroken, etc... AT&T has made it clear the MMS will officially be out on September 25th.
