Bad SIM Cards for Online Ordered 3GS?

My 3GS was ordered via Apple and arrived 6/19. I?ve subsequently had spotty reception here at home when I?ve had zero problems prior with my Treo 680. The wife?s iPhone (v1) also has solid reception.

After talking to the tech folks at AT&T they said to go in to an AT&T store and have the SIM Card replaced.

The staff in the store stated that it is there understanding that ALL initial online orders for the 3GS shipped with faulty SIM Cards. They have been replacing them left and right...

My 3GS now has rock solid reception here at home.

Yes, I find it hard to believe that ?All? SIMS were bad but that is what the AT&T folks claimed...
