Syncing data from 3G onto 3GS

Hi all,

My 3GS won't be delivered for a few days but I'm curious how to best handle moving all my data to the 3GS from my existing 3G, if that's possible. Music, apps, settings, bookmarks, etc.

I read a post saying to restore a backup from the 3G onto the 3GS, but that sounds a bit too hacky. Is there a proper way to do it?

Also, my wife asked if I could not wipe my 3G when she gets it to try out the apps and music. Will iTunes let me sync 2 iPhones with the same apps/music registered to the same iTunes account?
