I plug mine into my radio in my car and two days after the update it stopped connecting to it. Instead of the message about switching to airplane mode I get one that says "device not supported" and will not connect to play music at all. Reastarting the phone didn't help. I'm going to try restoring a fresh copy, as much as I don't want to loose my settings, but maybe that will help.
I have also noticed the wifi range being lower yesterday and today, but Wednesday it would keep kicking me out of wifi and not load anything, so at least I can use it now. I have noticed the my phone does seem to be slower, especially when typing, it can't seem to keep up video wise but does see all the keys I press. 3.0 seems really buggy, and everytime I restart the phone for some reason, different bugs seem to awaken untill I restart again, only to get different ones. Hopefully a fresh install will help.
EDIT: I meant to mention that I have a 3g, wish I could get a 3gs but can't upgrade till FebruaryLast edited by Xenon; 06-19-2009 at 08:45 PM.

- I restored my iPhone 3G to butt nekkidness with iTunes on my secondary laptop here at work. I can't sync my apps because I'm not at home on my main PC. So on my restored iPhone I navigated to the App Store and was able to download 1 of the missing games I used to have in my "Categories" folder and it now shows up.
So the good news is you'll be able to get all of those missing Apps back.
Bad news is you'll have to setup ALL of your personal settings again.
I guess I'm happy about a little silver lining06-19-2009 09:26 PMLike 0 -
This royally sucks.06-19-2009 09:42 PMLike 0 - My wifi range is reduced too, i get dropouts and thw whole thing is slow. I guess its a price for extended fubctionality, but am also sure Apple could tweak further. Heck, in 1985, I had GUI OS running on 1mhz Commodore 64 with 64 kBytes of RAM, and they cant write a snappy OS for a device with TWO THOUSAND TIMES more memory?06-20-2009 03:06 AMLike 0
- I restored and setup as a new phone but now my WiFi can't even find a network. None! I'm sitting next to my laptop that is connected to my WiFi so I know it's active. I also know that there are at least 5 other WiFi networks that I used to be able to see along with my own.
This royally sucks.06-20-2009 06:00 AMLike 0 - If you restore as new phone rather than from backup, won't you lose all of your app data? I know I can just reload the apps but I have important data that I don't really want to lose.06-20-2009 09:01 AMLike 0
- Hello I got 3 new phones yesterday and none work there is no way to send pictures or video on the sms like the apple video shows. also I have one ohone that the camera and video do not work06-20-2009 09:03 AMLike 0
- I take that back. It's still not working. It finds it but won't connect anymore. I get the "unable to connect to the network" message. I've tried bouncing my router to restart the WiFi, restored as a new phone twice and all with no luck. Next step is to call Apple and see what is going on.06-20-2009 10:21 AMLike 0
- After I could not not connect to my radio, giving me the "device not supported" message, I did restore to a new phone last night and is working again. Copy and paste came in handy setting up my rss feeds again, thanks apple! Wifi range is still reduced, but my phone does seem to be running a lot smoother. It was worth loosing my app data to restore.06-20-2009 11:43 AMLike 0
- In YouTube over WiFi I can only watch about 1 minute 20 seconds worth of video because after that amount of time it simply stops downloading the video. It works beautifully over 3G - anybody else had this issue?
Most of them were high quality videos (the ones from TiPB.com actually) and usually 6+ minutes long.
It plays until that point and just stops, when I touch the screen the bar that shows how much is loaded and the player position shows it's not loaded past that point, and the video just pauses. Hitting play doesn't work you have to exit out of the video and go back into it and then jump ahead to that point and then you still only get about a minute's worth.
I really need to know if this is something local to my LAN/Wifi or if it's an iPhone 3.0 problem - I'm going to test it on my 3G here in just a bit, because this is how it acts on my 3G S.06-20-2009 02:29 PMLike 0 - I've verified this issue only exists with my 3G S and only on WiFi, on my 3G it doesn't happen at all (WiFi or 3G) could somebody else with a 3G S and WiFi please see if you can watch a high-quality video for more than a minute before it quits downloading the video? The videos here on TheiPhoneBlog.com will work.06-20-2009 10:50 PMLike 0
- iPhone 3G - redsn0w'd - 5.0 carrier
Oddities I have experienced.
Under the Settings page General / Network there was the Tethering option shown at one point.
I went into Cellular Data Network to adjust the MMS settings to try to get MMS working. I put in the MMS settings, then returned to the Cellular Data Network page. When I returned the tethering option just up and disappeared.
Another weird thing I found. After I initially updated to 3.0 and was setting up my phone. I went into Settings / General and changed Auto-Lock to "Never"
After I was completely done setting up my phone, it started going into Auto-Lock mode. So I went back into Settings / General, and I no longer have the "Never" option to control the Auto-Lock. I did read on some other forums that it may have something to do with having an exchange account, but that makes no sense to me.
And now just recently. When I try to go into the Itunes app, using my iPhone (not on the pc). I was trying to browse some podcasts, and I wasn't able to download anything. I poked around further and I'm not able to download/buy anything in Itunes app on the phone. My account is setup. I'm able to use the AppStore to purchase / download apps with no problem.
[Update]
Uninstalled MobileSubstrate and iTunes app is working again (Had to reboot after uninstall)Last edited by MPIIIMan; 06-20-2009 at 11:24 PM.
