nope. I knew that the phone would be optimized... even though people said it wouldn't be.

It should seem faster. If you watch the Keynote from last week they improved the coding and it's nearly 3x faster than 2.2.1 OS. The iPhone 3G(S) is to be 3x faster than the 3G with the new 3.0 software. It's all in the video.

What exactly will happen if I restore my iPhone? Will it delete everything, will I have to reactivate it, call At&T, call Apple, what? It's like the only option available now, says my iTunes. My gosh, what a f*ck up.

I restored mine and it's like a brand new iPhone with 3.0. It will activate when you follow the process thru iTunes. The downside is have to reinstall my apps and email and app settings. But I find this to a clean method and not have any issues linger from jailbreaking or the backup.
