how do i get around my power button not working?

I am trying to unlock/jailbreak it but in order to do that i need to reboot/restart!!!

Well i cant do that.

please help me

have you tried holding down the home button and the power button for 10 sec's. I have no clue about anything for jailbreaking but the aforementioned action is the normal way to do a reboot or soft reset,if you will.

yes but i still am left with my original problem...power button does not work

If when you push and hold the power button down for 4 to 5 sec's and the slider to pwer off does not appear then perhaps you should connect to itunes and do a reinstall. but wait till one of the more knowledgeable posters around here has a look at your post.

I see you also posted on the jailbreak forum..and still no answer. so what's happened? have you figured it out? if so, please let us know.

Is your iPhone under warranty if to apple will replace the home button.
