App trouble please help

I have an iphone 3g and I have apps that as of today do not work. when you
press an app it goes to start and then goes back to the app buttons. All the origional apps work like camera, and calc. I already tried reseting and re syncing the phone please help.

What software do you currently have on your phone? 2.2.1? 3.0? Or older?

I have the 2.2.1

I had several of mine do the same thing.
I did the iphone version of a batt pull (shut completely off and restart)
And after a few moments they started working again.

Has not done it sense so i never found out anything else.
