Can the iPhone do the following
Could the i phone be thethered to the imac to have internet access with the data plan?

Can the i phone be tethered to the ibook ?

Could I give up my rr internet service if the above is possible?

Can the i phone be left plugged in to wall power for use in lieu of a land line?

Can I keep our house phone number to use on one of the iphones?

You better make sure your plan includes unlimited data if your gonna keep it tethered.

As for cell phone as a home phone, people do that. Make sure you have a good plan for daytime minutes and you are aware that 911 can't track your address by Ph#

I should also mention tethering requires you to jailbreak the iPhone.
