Why are all the apps being downloaded everytime I sync?

Hi there,
When I sync my iPhone, it takes 10-15 minutes to sync. Looking at the progress bar on top of ITunes, it seems to download all my apps everytime, even if I haven't used them or sought to update.. Is it normal?
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Please, rest assured that you are not doing anything wrong.

This is the default option setup in iTunes for apps. You can change it in the settings or if you simply want to get rid of the app just delete it on iTunes and it will be wiped off your phone!
