syncing iphone with Microsoft 'contacts'

I use Microsoft 'Contacts' to sync with my 16G iphone. Seems that the new info that I've input into my iphone (appointments, phone numbers, etc) does not recognize/will not sync to my desk computer 'contacts'. In fact, my desk computer 'contacts' apparently deletes the new phone contacts info that I recently put into my iphone.

Am I missing something? Setting?

(New info on desktop seems to sync with iphone just fine. Just not the opposite.)

I don't really ever use this way of syncing contacts but make sure you are not selecting/haven't selected that option that says something along the lines of replacing all information on iPhone with information from computer.
