What phone did you have before your iPhone?

Several other palm devices I can't remember names to. Never actually had a treo though.
Palm Lifedrive (gosh it was HUGE!! I still have it too, although not working)
Palm Centro
iPhone 3G
tomorrow will be i4G (if I can find one!)

The only thing I miss about Palm is Pimlico's Datebk's. I miss that so much, that even though they have said they probably won't make an iPhone app, I still check their website at least once a week just to see if they have changed their minds!!

New to the forum. I actually came from a launch day Palm Pre. I actually liked that phone. Palm has a good following community, and tons of support. I also like the updates. But I gotta say.....WOW THIS IPHONE BLOWS IT AWAY. Been using a mac for years so i'm not new to the Apple world, just the iPhone world. So glad to got my iPhone 4.

I'm not listing all my phone, not too many AT&T
smartphones I didn't have. I'll name the three
I used regularly (yes 3 regularly) before my i4:

3Gs
Nexus One
BlackBerry 9700

I also have a Pre I use for S&Gs.

Pretty simple really. I still have a soft spot in my heart for Blackberry. They are email monsters and I doubt I will ever type as fast on my ophone as my Blackberry

i had a iphone 2g, updated when the 3g came out. my headphone jack broke and apple replaced it on the spot. about a year later my battery was down to 2 hours talk time. updated my line and decided to try the blackberry 9700. worst mistake ever. i hated it. couldnt type for nothing on it and everything was an effort to do. just updated to iphone 4 and its like going to heaven. soooo glad to be back in the fold.

I'm new here but...

I'm currently using a BBerry Curve(old 8310) w/AT&T unlimited plan and will soon/maybe be switching to an iPhone. Just haven't decided between the 3GS or the 4. Maybe I should wait until next summer for the 4G or 4GS...? My contract ends September..

I started in 1995 with Motorola MicroTac 550... over the years I had many phones from Motorola, LG, Nokia. In 2002 I got my first BlackBerry (8700G), and became a huge fan of the BB devices (8800, 8310, 9000 and 9700). The Bold 9700 was the last phone prior to the iPhone4... No looking back...

before this i had the BlackBerry Curve 8310 i loved the phone, thought it was the coolest thing since it was my first smartphone, then i got the iphone 3gs, and it just made the blackberry look like nothing to me after that.

Trying to remember my comeplete cell phone history:

Then:
Nokia 5190 - Pacbell
Nokia 8260 - AT&T
Motorola V60 - Verizon
Samsung x550 (or something very similar) - T-Mobile
Motorola RAZR - Cingular
Sony Ericsson K790a - Cingular becomes AT&T
Sony Ericsson W800i - AT&T
Sony Ericsson K550i - AT&T

Then into the iPhone generation:
Apple iPhone 3G - Black 8GB
Apple iPhone 3GS - Black 16GB

Now:
Apple iPhone 4 - Black 32GB

The RAZR was a great phone during it's time, and I loved all my Sony Ericsson's because of it's solid camera/music player/Bluetooth Stereo capabilities... but all that was taken to a whole new world w/ the iPhone. No turning back now! :D

I used Blackberries before moving over to iPhone (at the time I purchased my first iPhone, a 3GS, I was using a Blackberry Bold 9000). Moving to iPhone was the best thing I ever did. While my BB was great for emailing, it had some serious limitations and the lack of media integration was very problematic for me. The only thing I don't like about my iPhone compared to my BB is the inability to unlock the iPhone and use it abroad. Other than that, I've been very happy with my iphone. It is several devices in one and I use it constantly.
