I really really am itching to start coding. Unfortunately I don't own a mac (well, not entirely true - I have a very rare mac sitting in my closet. It was specially modified to use an Exponential x704. (http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/karu/papers/exponential.html, http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=r...SN2UI6vOO_OQrd_FA&sig2=kzk1DYE4jav7nOVNwGbmPQ)

Of course, at 400+ MHz, that thing is a little long in the tooth.

When does leopard come out? I think that will be my trigger.

NM,

I am looking for a programming environment to create NATIVE iphone apps. And the current one available requires a mac.

Cliff,

Ah. I haven't heard of any "SDK" type of environments for the iPhone.

I was going to suggest Aptana which would help with Javascript, HTML/XHTML, CSS, etc in one interface and works on Mac/Linux/Windows. But I think you are looking for something different than that.

If you hear of anything for native programming, please post what you find.

Thanks,
Dave

Take a look at the above link. It points at a story which explains the "unofficial" toolchain for native development (the tuaw link)
