Volume and silent buttons do not work

Hi all,

First of all, sorry if this question has been asked already. I check as many posts as I could, they all differ a little from my problem...

I am running a 3GS with OS 4.3.3, jail broken, and for 3 days, my silent button, along with the volume ones have stopped working: They seem to click ok, but nothing shows on screen (nor anything vibrates) when I play with them. The strange thing is that when I use the SBSetting volume option, the volume icon appears on screen and moves along, but it does not change my volume effectively... My phone stays locked in ring mode and I cannot turn it to silent.

Now the only thing I have done recently is syncing the phone, but I can't tell for sure if it's what triggered the behaviour.
Anybody experiencing the same issue?

Before i had same problem on my 3g. But not about jailbreak, it was a physical problem.
