help! i am not a techie.. but i just recently purchased an iphone 3g.. and when i connected to itunes i have only one option -- to restore... i dont think its a good idea coz it might cause my phone to die or anything...
my itunes version is : 8.2.1 (6)
my iphone 3GS software version is 3.0...
im not familiar with the tech definitions.. im not sure what firmware im running... i guess i have to back to the shop then.. or is there anyway i can do it by myself? but the sim card is not compatible to my iphone right now so i cant even access my phone

Yes you can do it yourself. I need to no what firmware you are running so I can get you the downloads.
Go to Setting>General>About>What version does it say?
ok... now i know.. i was using the 3.0 firmware ( probably my phone is already unlocked )... i connected to itunes and i have no other options except to restore... which i did ( restored ) and i ended up with no access to my phone except with the emergency dial...
message on the itunes is "SIM card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported."
