i have been surfing the web and came across an article about canadian carrier rogers introducing an 8gb iphone 3gs (although i have heard it will replace the 3gb iphone at the same price) here is the article, just thought i'd post it if anyone was interested

With the price point being so low I couldn't see what the price would be. I mean 99 dollars for a 8gb 3g. What would the 8gb 3gs cost.

Oh ok well that's not a bad idea then. The only problem is, you will have a lot of upset customers that bought the 8g 3g for 99 dollars and can't return them for the 3gs. I am glad I returned my 8gb 3g and bought the 32gb 3gs within the 30 day return policy!

Rumors? Rodgers Wireless- 8gb iPhone 3G[s]

An article posted on MacRumers appears to confirm the rumers from last week that Apple was selling an 8gb iPhone 3G version. Does this mean Apple is fading out the 8gb 3G model & Will this be available in the States?

Your title is mis-leading. It cant be a rumor and confirmed at the same time. Reading just your title of this post, would lead everyone to think it was confirmed with in fact it has not been.

Rumor, confirmed or whatever. I'm pretty sure the 3G is on its way out for the US market in favor of the 8GB 3GS. Nice way to fade out older devices left in the dust with the advent of the 3GSpeed.

I wonder how long AT&T/Apple will keep selling the 3G in the US? Do they have a glut of left over inventory that they are trying to move through, or was that just a stop-gap measure to hit a low price point as they roll out the 3GS?

An email from Rogers has confirmed that it is just a typo after all, and that it's "being corrected asap."

When we asked Rogers about the 8GB iPhone 3GS semi-featured on their website, they said this: "There is no 8GB 3GS iPhone." Case closed! Except this rumor is back, with evidence. Someone at Rogers is either confused, lying, or both.
