All of those Rolex shots weren't taken with the 3GS, right? Just the first one, right? I'm impressed that you were able to take that shot with one hand and press the shutter button without causing the iPhone's camera to go out of focus. I've found when taking photos that the camera adjusts focus in and out, so many of my shots tend to be out of focus. Any tips?
That's correct - just the first photo I posted is with the 3Gs. I'm a professional photographer (and Rolex collector).

I didn't find one handed photo taking too terribly difficult. I just recommend taking a 2-3 photos to make sure you get one in focus.

Wow, some of these are stunning. I had the Storm for a month and loved the camera on it (and that's all I loved...) and then was disappointed by the Curve's camera. Now that I'm almost ready to switch to the 3GS and AT&T I'm excited to see amazing camera capabilities on an equally amazing phone :P

Now I gotta get MY Rolex out and wind it. Although my iPhone doesn't take good pics like that close up, but I'll try it out.

See the horrible quality of the 3G iPhone? It doesn't do well close up.

so far i'm digging the clarity that the auto-focus macro provides on the 3GS. seems to really pinpoint your target. even if only at 3 megapixels. great results

Yeah, I know. The more I look at this thread, the more I want a 3GS. I can't afford it though and my 3G is good enough until my contract is up.

And thanks for the comment on the Datejust. It was a birthday present about 10 years ago from my Dad.

Ya, I tweaked them a bit, but I haven't used an untweaked photo, for any reason, in years so that is what what a image is too me. Taht being said, besides the statue and the painting which I had super lack of light issues, the others were not tweaked much, there they are raw sans resizing.

I find that whenever I take pictures of my artwork it doesn't photograph well, especially on white paper, because the camera dims when there is too much white to avoid looking washed out.

My problem is that I had two high powered work lights right off screen which, from the distance I was at drowned out all light. I was actually super impressed the quality the image retained after processing, especially how dark that one was.

First you can't use "Quick Reply" you have to hit "Post Reply". Then scroll down until you see manage attachments. Click that and upload the image you would like to attach. Simple.
