Hi,

What do you recommend for positioning your iPhone 3g for maximum reception for phone calls(AT&T in the US), Edge, 3G, and GPS? When driving, I put it face down on the dash and use a BT headset; this has helped with a dead zone on my commute. Is this the best postion, or should any other side face up? How about GPS? In order to get the best reading, how should it be held? Same thing with a big download with 3G, how?

Thanks for your responses...
Zak

The iPhone does seem to have better reception when it's laying horizontal for some reason. Also the 3G antenna is near the bottom of the unit, so holding it at the bottom would theoretically reduce reception with your hand, though I haven't been able to prove that.

I think the radios are all at the bottom (unless it changed from the original iPhone). So when holding it if your getting low signal take your hand off the bottom portion and reception should increase.
