For those that have upgraded from a 13 Pro to the 14 Pro, how does battery life compare? Read mixed reviews elsewhere. Don’t want to go to a newer phone with less battery. Thanks.

I’ve been on my iPhone 14 Pro all day and I can tell you that the battery life is better than with my iPhone 13 Pro, of which I still have, but not by leaps and bounds.

That’s good to hear. I’ve heard some say it was worse. Hoping they just had a bad battery or something. Hoping others on here are having a positive experience so far.

I easily make it through the day with no problems or concerns about charging through the day. When I got the 14 Pro I also started using dual esim and still haven't had any issue. When I put it on the charger between 10-11pm I have been about 20-25% remaining. Not a true comparison with my 13 Pro because I wasn't using dual sim.

FWIW, Mr WhoseTheBoss on YT does the battery test every new Samsung and Apple flagship release. I believe his very recent results (iPhone is best battery fyi).
Iphone 14 7:11
iPhone 13: 7:15
iPhone 14 Pro 7:49
(He has a Confident but not certain estimate of iPhone 14 Plus): 9:15
iPhone 14 Pro Max: 9:31
iPhone 13 Pro Max(from last year’s test): 9:45

iPhone 13 Pro Max was, by quite a lot, the best battery last year head to head against Samsung, Google, and I believe OnePlus. It keeps the title this year.
He uses new out of the box phones, sets the brightness and audio levels the same, keeps the settings the same, runs the same apps and tasks. Unlikely to be precise laboratory but likely pretty close

I am glad this post was made. It actually depends on the day for me. Today it hasn’t been the best. I have the pro and now my messages are failing as well in sending as it did with my 13 pro.
This has started with the latest update on the 16 iOS. I do like my 14 pro but not these issues.
I know the pro doesn’t have the battery life of the max sizes. I always had the max size but started going with the smaller device when I got the 13 pro. I got tired of my phone not fitting in all my handbags. I still like the smaller footprint, but just wish the battery life was a tad better. It was ok until the latest update, same with messages……so I hope it will have a fix soon. It is annoying

Thanks for the input everyone. Does anyone wish they’d have stayed with the 13 Pro or recommend that others stay on the 13 Pro?

Do I regret getting the iPhone 14 Pro? No. Not at all. Did I need to get the iPhone 14 Pro? Of course not. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my iPhone 13 Pro that I still have. The speed increase for every day tasks are minimal.

Haven’t pulled the trigger yet but I have decided I am going to on the 14 PM. But I can say there won’t be one regret. As Just_Me_D aptly said, “did I need to? No” has applied to me on virtually all my Apple purchases. IPad mini 4 -> 6, S6 -> S7, AirPods Pro 1 -> 2 — none of them needed replacement, all of the devices I had (even Mini 4) worked perfectly fine. But for me regret can’t exist when buying the newest model even if it’s a bit of a let down in features. It’s the enthusiasm (if not a passion) for using-playing with-testing out-experiencing the latest features that drives my purchases for not needed Newest Apple Models.
Just imho, if you’re buying a new iPhone every year and/or other new Apple device models, you likely do that because (enthusiasm) you enjoy having the new tech to use-experience. Otoh, if you bought last year’s model, then bought this year’s model but then immediately regret it? no offense intended whatsoever but whatcha doing replacing a device that clearly doesn’t need or require it? That’s only for those (which I’m usually one of) that can’t regret the purchase because ‘it is the new model’ :)

Seemed like I had better battery life on my iPhone 13 Pro Max vs my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I don't know why, but it seems like this one is a little more power hungry than the 13 Pro Max was.

I think battery like if about the same. I use both the 13 Pro & 14 Pro. While I don’t use them exactly the same way, I usually have roughly 35-40% left on each at the end of the night.

Before the iPhone 14 Pro Max I had the iPhone 12 Pro Max and battery life is about the same. I do have AoD enabled so that may be why the iPhone 14 Pro Max is not outperforming the iPhone 12 Pro Max with battery life.

I ended up getting the 128gb Space Black 14 Pro. Looking forward to using this for at least the next year.
