A bit about this:
“Oversize Load Move-Final Day
A retired 767 fuselage is being moved by Ball and Sons Movers from Wilmington to WPAFB and will be used as a simulator/trainer for nurses and doctors treating wounded soldiers.
At 9 am today, the plane will leave the corner of Dayton Yellow Springs Road and Trebein for its final leg of its 3 day travel and travel down Dayton Yellow Springs Road and then turn left onto Kauffman Avenue, and then left onto Skyline Dr into WPAFB.
The haul vehicle and load loaded is 150’ long, 22' wide, and 19’ high with a gross weight of 124,000 lbs.
The moving rig is escorted by troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and will require the adjusting of traffic signals and utilities before and after the vehicle. Due to height of the load and bridge clearances, this is the route they had use. It’s very much a dance of various crews to make the move successful.
We appreciate your patience during the move and encourage drivers to avoid the route or allow extra commute time as essentially this will be a moving road closure.

This is parked overnight across from Kroger. It’s on its way to WPAFB where it will be used as a medical training aircraft.
