I went with my typical Speck Presidio Grip case. I have had this style case on my phones since the iPhone 7 days(to a Samsung S9+ to an iPhone XS Max and now to the 11 Pro Max).

I just haven’t found anything else that matches the feel or the look. Only variation I do is a different color(had blue on my XS Max and now black on the 11).

That’s probably correct. Some do those element cases are pricey

Well, I wasn't going to buy any more cases for a while since I just switched from the Tech 21 clear to the Mous Limitless aramid fiber a few weeks ago. I made the mistake of looking at their website today though, and the contour was 50% off in brown leather so now I have one on the way. That's cheaper than most of the other cases I was looking at even with their sales and I couldn't pass it up.

Decided to pick up the Apple Battery case. Only really reason was for the dedicated camera button. Pretty cool case with more battery life to the already great battery. Just wish it was more black than a gray.

Ballistic Tough Jacket is a fine case. Kind of like a slim Otterbox Defender. Real grippy, extra thick back and overall a decent case. I believe the phone could survive many of drops in this thing.
