Does anyone use a 64GB iPad without having storage issues? I ask because my mom took both her aunts to Micro Center over the weekend & they both purchased 64GB iPad 8th gens for $279. All the do is play games, use Facebook occasionally, & go on the internet for news. I’m just wondering if this is actually enough storage. They looked at Samsung tablets but since they both are use to iPhones & 1 of them had my mom’s old iPad 3, they went with the iPad. The deal is great but 64GB makes me nervous …..Plus they call me when there’s a gadget issue and it’s really hard to explain to them how to troubleshoot since I live in another state & can’t just pop in to help.

My iPad Pro has 256 GB of storage space, but I can easily get by with 64 GB because my iPad Pro is “primarily” used for media consumption, web browsing and forum use. I don’t save a bunch of files on it. That’s what my Mac Mini, my external drive and my cloud storage sites are for.

Thanks, D! That makes me feel better. They definitely won’t be saving anything to it….at least I don’t think they will

I don't have an iPad, but I used a 64gb iPhone 6s Plus for 5 years. I would think a 64 gb iPad would be plenty for her needs.

Do you want use a 64GB iPad?

As an example, I have a 256 iPhone 11 Pro Max that I preordered. In the 2-ish years I’ve had it, I’m only using 60 gigs:

I think the iPads will be just fine.

Speaking as a person who’s iPad only has 32gb, 64gb sounds like heaven! :D

It sounds like based upon their usage they should be fine with 64gb.

I really wouldn’t worry. I never had an out of space warning on my iPad Air.

I have a 64gb Air and usually have around 10-20gb free. I have a handful of games and don’t keep any photos or videos on it. It’s mostly used as a content consumption device, along with the odd video conference for work.

Very nice!! They’ve had the iPads for a week now & haven’t heard a word out of them lol. I guess everything is working fine.

I don't even remember how much storage my iPad has, it's an Air 2, likely less than 64GB. My iPhone is 64GB, and I use maybe half. The trick is just to keep everything in the cloud.

Makes sense! Hopefully, they won’t be saving anything, as I don’t want to be responsible for explaining to them how iCloud works

Lol yeah. I checked, mine is a 64GB and I'm using just over 11GB. I just keep photos stored in icloud, music stored in apple music cloud, video stored on whatever cloud it's on for whichever service, etc.

I recently bought my mom the new iPad Air 4 w 64 GB. She only uses it for one playlist and Hulu/Netflix. Seems to work just fine for her.

Now personally I went w the larger capacity since I use Procreate among other things.

So far she’s nowhere near filling up her memory, even having her fave songs playlist downloaded so she always has it on the go.
