Just for curiosity sake, how to do switch iPads? As in upgrading from an older model. I’m debating options right now as I really want the Pro 10.5, but I can’t really go purchase it outright right now, nor do I want to add the cost of another data line to my phone bill. So I thought it would be interesting topic to see how others go about switching to a new iPad.

One option would be to sell your old iPad and use the money toward getting a new one. Some carriers have a trade-in option, but you’ll probably get more from selling your old iPad outright.

I usually just buy it outright & just use my T-Mobile pay per month sim.

I bought the new 10.5 outright from apple and use it on tmo with unlimited data. I get 15% off on my purchases from Apple. . Then I handed down my 9.7 pro to wife. For iPad she doesn't care to be on the latest and greatest unlike how she has to be on iPhone. Then sold her Air 2 for $320 on swappa.

If your one still works and does the job keep using it whilst saving for a new one. Or go to your carrier and see if an upgrade can be got for a small amount more?
