iPad settings for new Gmail app

Hi

I have installed the new Gmail app on an iPad 2 and 2 iPhones. Everything works fine on the iPhones but links in emails don't work properly on the iPad now.
In the old version, I could click on links to apps and have the option of opening in the app - since the app upgrade I either only get the option to open in Chrome or Safari, or get sent to the App store to open the app, but it just opens at the home area, not where the link is actually directed. Works fine on the phones.

Also, when I open an email, then delete it it, the next email used to open. Now it takes me back to the email list - again it works fine on the phones.

I've posted on a couple of Google forums but with no success.

Anyone experience this? Seems as though it might be an iPad setting issue.

Check the settings from within the app, if available, to see if you can make the necessary changes to make the app perform as it does on your other devices.
