How can I actually send a text with a wireless keyboard on my iPad?

Is there a way to send a text/imessage from my apple wireless keyboard when using my ipad? Ive tried different ways such as command+enter and others but cant firgure it out. Any help is appreciated.

As in only using the keyboard? I believe you need to get the text compose window open via touchscreen before the keyboard will be of any use.

When I had my iPad 2, I used my Apple wireless keyboard with it quite often. Nothing changed in regard to sending SMS/iMessages except the keyboard used to actually type the message. In other words, you still have to tap on the Messages app and then tap on the text fields prior to typing.

I still have to press send on the iPad. I'm wondering if I there is something around that where I can use the iPad to actually send the message.
