Thought I’d provide some help on this, as I hear it from time to time from iPad owners.
It turns out you CAN get an iPad battery replacement… sort of. If your iPad is still covered by your one-year warranty, you can pop into an Apple store and have things taken care of. If it is out of warranty, you can get a battery replacement for $99, plus $6.95 shipping and local taxes.
You can read more about this (and other battery replacements) at Apple.
The good thing is, when you take your iPad (or other Apple device) in for a new battery, Apple makes sure to dispose of your old battery in an environmentally friendly way. Always good!
