I Need To Unlock iPad 3 With Broken Touchscreen, Working Display, To Import Photos To Windows 10 PC

I have an iPad 3 with a broken touch screen but working display. I have someones birthday coming up and I need photos from my recently broken iPad. I have tried getting the photos numerous ways (DropBox, Photos App) but all have told me I need to unlock the iPad (which I obviously cant do). I desperately need help. Any solutions that cost money for any reason are not useful, sorry.

So no icloud backup? Are you able to sync via USB to iTunes on another computer or does it request your key code?
If you have access to a Windows computer you should be able to access your photos in Windiws Explorer from THE DCIM folder.
