Lost password and iPad 2 wont charge

I accidentally locked myself out of my iPad after leaving it at a friends for a few months. After this I plugged it in and it only charged to 14%. I've tried changing the cable, plug, socket etc.. and have also not backed up my data as it never allowed me the option and as much of an ***** as I am never thought to search how to do so.
Any help would be appreciated and wouldn't like to reset my device as it has memorable photos and videos. Thank you if you can help of offer any solution, however I know this is mainly my fault.

You need to perform a Hard Reset on your iPhone.

Note that without a backup, you will lose all the data (including photos and videos) on the device and have to start fresh.
