ipad 2 won't charge

Just got back from the French Side of St. Martin (yes, I know, it sucks being me) and my ipad won't charge. That side of the island has the European (220v) electricity. Brought an adapter, (my Galaxy S$ charged just fine) but when I plugged in my ipad it started up but didn't charge. It's doing the same thing now using the charger I use with it all the time. Tried a hard restart and leaving it plugged in for a half an hour and neither worked. Any other magic tricks out there. Many thanks in advance.

In my humble opinion, it sounds like a trip to the Apple Store. :straight-face:

It's not dead, it just won't charge. Starts up and runs perfectly, but my battery is getting pretty low.

Yeah, I've never heard of a iPad/iPhone that would not charge at all that did not need a hardware fix. . . . Maybe someone else will have an idea.

I had a similar problem with my iPad. I narrowed it down to the power adapter, the part you plug into the wall, was bad. The charging cable was fine as well as the iPad.
