Can I pick up a new iPad at my local Verizon on Friday?

Unsure if they'll have it in stock since the pre-orders are already sold out. Best to call your Verizon store and double check IMO.

I called to check. They said they haven't been notified either way yet, but in the past they have always had stock on launch day. Has anyone else heard any different.

They should, but they may be sold out. Since they are one of the Apple supported carriers for the iPad 3, I don't see why in theory they wouldnt be selling it on friday.

I'm hoping! I sold my iPad 2 yesterday and don't have one on pre-order. At least I have a corporate rep at verizon.

OK, so they are going to have them at all the big box stores and the apple retail stores. still no official word on the cell carriers...
