Word doc help

Ok well first off I'm new to the IPad but not iOS or apple in general but I do have a stupid question and I must be wording it wrong for a search. My question is I'm trying to load my resume on my iPad to take with me at all times or even if I want to email it from my iPad to someone. My resume is in doc x format and I know pages app opens it but will I still be able to keep it as a doc x file and email it to employers. I'm sorry if there's already a thread on it but it would really help.

You'd be better off keeping it in a Dropbox folder.

Figgy, I use DocsToGo to store Word and other MS Office files in. The program allows you to email files from within. I would be lost without it.

Thanks for the help. i have drop box but i didnt think if i had it on my ipad i could foward my resume from drop box to email. Im going to try both methods and see if it works out for me. Tyvm for the help.
