For those of you that have a 3G iPad on AT&T..... What are you seeing as your average download/upload speeds? I'm on the unlimited 3G plan in the Atlanta area and my speeds are generally horrible. I'm seeing anywhere from 100 Kbps to 1000 Kbps on average. Sometimes I'll get 1.5 Mbps or even 2 Mbps but that's rare. My Verizon phone is almost always faster then my iPad. Are you guys getting good speeds or are they bad as well? I'm not sure if it's just the Atlanta market that's overloaded or what.

As a drequent traveler, I can tell you it is very location dependent. In Indy I regularly get 3+ downstream and 1+ upstream. But in NY or Chicago it is very slow. In NJ I just got 1.3 down and .77 up.

That's what I was wondering. The traveling I've done with my iPad has been in EDGE only areas so I haven't been able to test the 3G except in the metro Atlanta area. Looks like AT&T needs to add some serious backhaul around here

I get around 1.75mbs down, here in Los Angeles coastal area(Malibu). Which is good for me on my iPad. My iP4 though, sees wya higher speeds, around 3mbs down, way odd but good either way!

Yep, I'm in Chicago and dumped it for 4G. My speeds are/were:

AT&T 3G = PING: 244s DOWNLOAD: .93Mbps UPLOAD: .05Mbps

Clear 4G = PING: 225ms DOWNLOAD: 9.04Mbps UPLOAD: .88Mbps

AT&T DSL = PING: 163ms DOWNLOAD: 4.91Mbps UPLOAD: .62Mbps
