Fail Sync

So I'm having issues with syncing my iPad with my computer. I'm sure it has something to do with Apple's servers being bogged down due to the iPhone 4 pre-order fiasco, but it keeps asking me to authorize my device for this computer. I enter the correct password and it authorizes with a message saying there are 4 authorizations left out of 5, but immediately brings up a message again saying that I need to authorize it. I've done this several times now. Any ideas as to why this is?
