Mail

Hello
I am a newbie to the world of apple but am loving me some iPad.
I do have a question about the native mail app. I set up my gmail account. I have about 800 contacts in gmail. Is there any way for me to import them to the mail app. I was hoping it would pick them up directly when I set up the account.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have to set it up as a MS exchange account using google active sync. I don't have a link to the directions right now but if you *google* it I'm sure you will find the answer!
