Has anyone purchased an iPad Pro 11' and later wished to have gotten the 12.9'

I will looking to replace an aging iPad mini 4 with one of the new iPad Pros. I currently use a 13.3 MacBook Pro for my main work. I tend to use the iPad Pro as that device to grab when I don't want to use the laptop or it's not turned on. I'm currently thinking of the 11'. But, over the years I have often made one purchase only to regret not spending more on the next model up. Thus, thinking the 12.9 might be the thing to buy now even though my use cases might not think it's needed at this time.

I would pair it with a magic keyboard and it would be in that form most of time. Other use would be in my lap while sitting in a chair. Never in bed.

Looking for peoples thoughts. My main concern is around file management. My limited experience with the Files app always leaves me unimpressed.

Thanks in advance

I have an iPad Pro 11” plus Magic Keyboard. I haven’t regretted not getting the larger model. I don’t think iOS Files would be any better on a bigger iPad.
I really very much prefer the whole structure and flexibility of the MacBook Finder files.

I’ve never had an 11-inch iPad, but I currently own a 2020 12.9-inch iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard. It is a beast and I don’t regret getting it.

In fact, I recommend it over the smaller model, especially if you’re going to use it for media consumption, graphics or work.

I have both the 11" (personal) and 12.9" (work provided), and I always find myself reaching for the 12.9" for almost everything. When I was travelling more, the 11" made sense on aircraft (during takeoff and landing they make you put a 12.9" away).

I will be purchasing a 2021 12.9" iPad Pro no question, especially with the new screen technology this is quite a beast.

Interesting, just due to the screen size?

I think if I was still working I would have gone for the 12.9”, but now I’ve retired and only using the iPad for personal use, I find the 11” combined with the Magic Keyboard perfectly adequate and of course a lot cheaper!

Ordered a 12.9 128gb wifi to try, if i don't like it will return and just stick with my 2018 11", don't see any point in upgrading to another 11".

I had the 1st gen 12.9” and could never go down to 11”. Currently have the 3rd gen and just pre-ordered the 5th gen 256GB to upgrade to 5G. Looking forward to getting it and the $200 GC offered by Verizon
