Ipad pro 11 not working with “non apple” USB-C to 3.5 mm jack adapter. Is it normal?

Hello everyone, I recently bought myself a new Ipad pro 11. The lack of the 3.5 mm jack is a real bummer for me but i was hoping that the new USB C port allowed me to use my old “non-apple” adapter, that by the way works completely fine with my android phone. Does anybody have the same issue? Do I have to get the stupidly expensive 10 bucks “official” one?

No, you don’t. I bought a cable from amazon and it works but it talked a few seconds for my iPad to recognize it. It’s odd but it works.

The official one you speak of, is getting bad reviews as well. You might have to just go wireless.
