Without diagnosing the source it’s hard to be able to answer your question with any level of confidence. I have three iPads in my home, none of which have screen freezing issues. If it’s a hardware problem with your specific iPad then it’s fairly safe to say buying a new iPad will resolve it. If it has something to do with a software or environmental issue, or something with your specific use case, that can be transferred to your new iPad then it’s possible the new iPad will also have a problem.

My current 10.5 pro has the screen freezing issue I was wondering if the new 11" has the same issue.

Have you updated the iOS version or reinstall the most current iOS version? That should fix any issues you may be experiencing with your current iPad. I seriously doubt it’s a hardware issue and I doubt it is affecting the new iPad model you mentioned.
