Smart Keyboard from iPad Pro 10.5?

I’m thinking about upgrading from an iPad Pro 10.5, that is essentially brand new (cracked the screen and got replacement from Verizon/Asurion a few weeks back) to a 2018 12.9 model. I like the idea of a bigger screen due to some eye issues I’ve had recently. Will my old Apple Keyboard from the iPad Pro 10.5 work with the new iPad? I know it’s smaller, but I use it relatively infrequently and can live with the smaller size.

If the smart connectors line up then one would think it should, but I don't really know. Anyway, the information found via the following link may be helpful to you.

Will not work. The connection is on the back of the new iPads vs the bottom on the 10.5.
